Halloween Craft: Melted Wax Candle Holder

halloweencraft final

Well, hello there! Welcome back to Spooky Vale! *ha-ha-ha* Bad puns aside, this week’s Halloween Craft is a little spookier compared to last week’s adorable Frankie – these melted wax candle holder that are amazing decors for your party!

Let’s get started, shall we? *rubs hand together with a creepy smile* Okay. Stop.

You’ll need
Drinking Glasses
Hot Glue
Acrylic Paints
Paint Brushes
Tealights

halloween craft 1-2
ONE Draw a face (eyes & mouth) on your glass!
TWO Draw strands of “melted wax” onto your glass. I usually start from the bottom, creating a blob of glue and pulling it up.

THREE Repeat all around the glass, layering the drips to make it more realistic.
FOUR Paint your glass and wax drips, leaving the eye and mouth holes empty. I painted mine black, but you can totally paint it any colour you prefer. At this point, I also taped tracing paper inside the glass to give it a softer glow (optional).

Note: I’m using battery operated tealights, not advisable to stick paper in the glass if it’s an open flame!

FIVE Lastly, use silver and gold paints to highlight the drips.

And you’re done!
