Fretting over Halloween craft ideas? No worries, we have them thought out for you! For the entire month of October, we’ll be doing one Halloween DIY each week that you’ll be able to do at home (even with your little ones!) with materials you probably already have in your craft supplies cupboard.
We made this adorable no-sew Frankenstein cushion cover this week. Duh – of course we gave him a head full of ragged pompom hair! What is better than a no-sew project that you can do under an hour, yet look as if you spent an entire day on it?
Let’s get started!
ONE Measure and cut your felt. My felt wraps nicely around my cushion, but I wanted to create an extra flap to tuck in (picture TWO). I did this so I can easily remove the cover and throw it into the washer.
TWO Glue. The overlapping part is the extra flap that I created. I used fabric glue, but hot glue or even UHU glue works extremely well too.
THREE While waiting for your glue to dry, start creating the details for your Frankenstein! We made yarn pompom hair, cut out extra large eyes and stuck smaller pieces of black felt together to make stitches.
*Tip: Use binder clips to hold your felt together while waiting for the glue to dry.
FOUR Time to flip your cover right side out and glue on your details! We added some accent stitches onto the eyelids to make them stand out more. Insert your cushion. Anddddd you’re done!
